As the word Rediscovery suggests, our program is about helping residents with memory impairments “rediscover” ways to enjoy everyday activities, even as their abilities decline.
Our nationally-recognized Rediscovery™ program is founded on more than 14 years of research. By grouping residents of similar ability levels in small “cottage” environments, we can tailor our caregiving and activities programs to the remaining abilities of those residents. Our research and experience have indicated that 12 to 14 residents living in each “cottage” is more focused and effective approach than large-group, generalized care.
The Hallmarks of Rediscovery™:
Cottages: Our “cottages” are an extension of home and family. Each “cottage” contains a family room, dining room, and fully equipped kitchen, along with bedrooms.
Caregivers: Our compassionate and expert caregivers get to know the needs and abilities of their residents inside and out.
Natural Cues: Using natural cues – such as aroma of food for mealtimes – we help guide residents through their day and instill a sense of familiarity and confidence.
Secure Campus: A spacious and enclosed campus-like setting provides residents the freedom to go for a leisurely walk through the grounds, enjoy our park-like setting and gazebos, or step outside and enjoy an activity.
Quality of Life: The Quality of Life Activities Program is a key component of Rediscovery™. Every aspect of this program, even the timing of activities during the day, has been developed to help each resident “rediscover” their remaining abilities.
