Encore Senior Village’s Terri Waldman to highlight resources and advances in research

Did you know that 54 percent of the U.S. adult population, or more than 100 million people, have been touched in some way by Alzheimer’s disease?

In her ongoing commitment and support to families coping with Alzheimer’s disease, Encore Senior Village’s Executive Director Terri Waldman, LMSW, will participate in an expert panel discussion and partial viewing of the HBO documentary series “The Alzheimer’s Project” on Tuesday, June 30th from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lighthouse/City YMCA at 2900 N. Columbus in Tucson.

“The Alzheimer’s Project,” is a four-part HBO documentary series, that takes a close look at discoveries made by the country’s leading scientists, as well as the effects of this debilitating and fatal disease both on those with Alzheimer’s and on their families. Sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter and the YWCA of Southern Arizona the screenings and panel will focus on the “Momentum in Science,” portion of the documentary.

Joining Ms. Waldman on the panel will be geriatric psychiatrist Dr. Kevin Goeta-Kriesler, MD of the Aleph Center and Felipe Jacome, MA, Regional Director of the Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter Southern Arizona.
