In July 1909, Louis Bleriot is the first man to fly across the English Channel in a heavier-than-air craft. William Howard Taft is president, and Loren K. is born.

Loren and his wife Irene live at specialized memory care community Encore Senior Village. Encore will hold a birthday celebration for Loren on Monday, July 12th at noon. He is turning 101 years old.

Loren grew up in Eureka, Utah during the height of World War I and the Great Depression. He served during World War II in the Navy. He then went on to work and serve for the Veteran’s Administration until he retired in 1965. Loren enjoys talking about the past and to others. Loren has two children; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
